The Bloggers Summer Hangout Event

Since last years event I had been eagerly looking forward to the next Bloggers Hangout Event;  finally, the invitation came through my inbox for the Bloggers Summer Hangout Event and I couldn’t click attending fast enough. What I wasn’t expecting was that the torrential rain the night before causing flooding on the majority of the train tracks all the way to London; cut a long story short I left at 10.33am got to the event at 2pm, so what should have been just over an hour on the train changed to 3 1/2 hours on a multitude of buses and trains and tubes. Finally, when got to the event *rather flustered and overheated* it was packed to the brim with bloggers and brands snapping away with phones and camera’s, So of course…I got my own out. Below I’ve listed some of the brands that stood out to me at the event.

The Primal Pantry

The Primal Pantry; producer of the UK’s cleanest protein/paleo/energy bars. Something I wouldn’t normally be interested in however after starting my healthy stint I wanted to give these famous health bars a try.  The founder Suzie Walker wanted to make the paleo & primal lifestyle easier and more accessible to everyone. All their products are gluten-free, dairy free and vegan using ingredients such as nuts, dates and almond oil. After handing out a few to family and friends I kept one for my own lunchbox to try later on * the one I had been most excited about when seeing the range of flavours * Hazelnut & Cocoa.

Sass and Belle

One company I have loved for a good number of years is Sass and Belle * I popped into their store in Brighton for my birthday this year * so when I heard they were attending I couldn’t contain my excitement.

Sass and Belle is a homeware and gifts company who sell a range of shabby chic, colourful and cute products. As you can see from the pictures below their brand is known for being quirky and fun with bold prints coming in a rainbow of colours; whilst in their store, they also sell dainty jewellery, cushions and my favourite floral garlands * perfect to hang from your bed *. Of course, they gave out a fabulous goodie bag filled with a glass pineapple tumbler, a bee foldable bag, a pen, a parrot nail file and small notebook. I’ve already started using the notepad for blogging and can’t wait to use the rest of them!

Blogosphere

Whether you’re a blogger who needs some inspiration or a person just looking for some new blogs to read; Blogosphere is for you. Unlike normal magazines that come out monthly Blogosphere comes out of times a year but is almost like a book being packed to the rim with interviews, articles, behind the scenes at multiple blogger events,  hot blogger topics and five new bloggers to discover from several different categories.

Apart from buying it from your local newsagents or bookstore * WHSmith is a safe bet * you can buy it in book form online, in e-book form or buy one of their monthly subscription packages which range from the copper: the magazine’s to your door as soon as their released, to the platinum which includes many fantastic extras on top of a basic subscription  including a tour around the Blogosphere office, a meeting with the editor and featuring in the magazine. I was so excited to meet some of the editors from Blogosphere including XOMisse and to be able to write a proposal for an article to be possible featured in the magazine * very exciting *. You never know you might be seeing an article by FarewellMay sometime soon!

Pink Parcel

A subscription service with a difference, Pink Parcel offers a ‘period’ subscription box providing you not only with your favourite brand of sanitary products *quite a selection of brands, types and absorbency* but also a selection of beauty, lifestyle treats along with some chocolate too – perfect for those bad days where you just need some comfort food. This month’s box includes Freeman Foot Scrub, Patisserie de Bain Hand Cream, La via del te Tisana Sweet Relax Tea Bag, Vintage Cosmetics Company Rose Gold Tweezers, Lottie London Nail Polish, Bellapierre Gel Eyeliner, Jelly Pong Pong Supercharged Eyeshadow and Bahlsen Chocolate Leibniz Biscuits. Considering the box is £10.50 (incl P&P) a month you get a good amount and variety of products perfect for perking you up during your period. The best part is your first box is only £6.99 which for over £30 of products is not a bad deal *if you ask me anyway*. At the event, the lovely girls at Pink Parcel gifted me a ‘mini’ version of their subscription box filled with products I had picked out myself. I chose the Roc Blemish Corrector, OPI Nail Polish in , Pink Parcel Brow Kit, English Tea Shop Cranberry & Vanilla Tea, Jealous Sweets and a small chocolate butter fudge. I don’t have my time of the month anymore, however, I would have loved this box when I was suffering from mood swings and cramps. If like me you don’t have periods *because of contraception or other reasons* this is still a great care box which is an amazing treat when you need something to cheer you up from a bad day at work or maybe if you’re at university and missing comforts of home.

Regenerate

As I’ve got into my twenties I’ve started to focus on my dental hygiene much more intensely * don’t want them falling out before I’m 40!* and had been looking into invisiline and getting my teeth to shine a little whiter rather than staying a horrible light yellow colour, so when I saw Regenerate it really caught my attention. Regenerate is a collection of products which aim to regenerate enamel and keep your teeth looking clean and feeling healthy. I got gifted both the Daily Toothpaste and Dental Treatment Pack both of which I’m really excited to try out and see the results from. I’ve already started to use the toothpaste which is very light and not too strong of a taste * I hate really powerful mint tasting toothpaste *, it comes a glittery silver colour, helps to restore original whiteness and protects and strengthens against cavities. I am slightly apprehensive to start the full treatment, however, using the extra serum thrice a month is said to considerably boost the effects of the toothpaste so I’ll have to give it a try.

Alfred & Wilde

One of my favourite new brands I met at the event was Alfred & Wilde, an East-London design studio that produces wall art, stationery and gifts with metallics and quirky graphics. As a fine artist, I can really appreciate the amount of work that goes into designing and producing these graphics as quite a few are inspired by London landscapes but also geometric designs. Metallics are a big thing right now in homeware, particularly gold and copper so I can imagine these easily being a big seller * especially in the blogger market *. Apart from homeware they also do beautiful geometric style jewellery pieces as you can see from the picture below, and when I have some money I might have to invest in not only a mug but maybe some jewellery too! The people at Alfred & Wilde were so welcoming and friendly it was really nice to chat with them and get to know their brand a little more not to mention meeting their adorable puppy they brought with them to the event. I was lucky to get their early enough to receive a cute little metallic star notebook which I’m going to keep in my bag for either blogging, last minute notes or even university.

Perk

At first, I was a little unsure of trying out Perk myself but after one of my blogger friends tried it, I knew I had to try it too! Perk offers a number of skincare treatments and I got to test first hand their Lip Treatment Service which supposedly smoothes, volumizes, moisturises and primes your lip ready for your favourite lipstick or lip product. 1/2 of the treatment uses a small spike head on top of a pen to gently exfoliate your lips ready for product, then after you apply a Lip Revitalising Serum that includes key ingredients like peppermint oil and peony extract to hydrate and plump your lips *almost like a slight Kylie Jenner effect*. You then take home the serum to apply to your lips day and night to add hydration and apply the Hydrating Balm after serum application. It’s quite an easy process and the peppermint oil in the serum is really refreshing and you can feel it tingling and volumising as soon as it’s on.

As you can see not only did I get to meet some amazing brands but also made some inspirational new blogger buddies along with Ana * far left * who I had met last year at The Bloggers Love Fashion Week Event. Also, I managed to bag a Bloggers Hangout goodie bag filled with a few samples from the brands above and a couple of extra’s as seen below.
