Back in April, I reviewed my first stationary box; That Lame Company’s Spring #Box of Lame and fell in love with the brand. Most who know me know of my love of stationary – you can never have enough pens and notebooks I say – so a box full of stationary goodness is right up my street. I was also lucky enough to win their Instagram competition giving me a free £10 voucher to use – I was rather ecstatic as I never win anything – and decided to save it to use on my next box of lame.
Finally months later – and many hours stalking their tweets – they have finally released not one but THREE Box of Lames! The Blogger’s #Box of Lame, the Small #Box of Lame and the Big #Box of Lame ; Of course I found myself one of the first to bag one. As I got the Blogger Box of Lame, that will be the one I will review, however, make sure you take a look at Chloe’s roundup of all the boxes available here – she also runs the fabulous That Lame Company so show some love on her blog! – Each #Box of Lame is packed with beautiful high-quality stationary goodness not only from That Lame Company themselves but also a mix of independent Etsy shops too!
The difference between the Big Box of Lame and the Blogger Box of Lame is the Blogger Mail Pad which of course I’ve already made good use of. As a blogger, I sometimes receive planned and unplanned product’s from companies to test out and review for the blog and as ‘not the most organised’ person in the world it sure helps to keep it all on track and in check. You can also now buy a sponsored content pad which has extra columns for ‘budget’, ‘social media’ and ‘paid?’ – if you previously bought a Blogger Box of Lame you can get 20% off the new blogger pad if you DM That Lame Company on Twitter or perhaps email -.
As per usual, the Box of Lame wouldn’t be right without a few pads and a ring bound notebook. The A5 Notebook has a watercolour print with the word’s ‘Notes and Dreams, Thoughts and Schemes’ perfect for my blogging ideas as its small enough to pop into my bag so I can keep it on the go when I get inspiration. The A5 Weekly Planner Pad is perfect to keep myself in check whilst juggling writing my dissertation, my artwork, my job and seeing my boyfriend each week as well as planning my meals. Lastly, the A6 Pad ‘Either Way I Haven’t Done This Yet‘ is handy to keep on my desk for my daily to do’s – I also love the marble style background -.
A big thing I had been looking forward to was these Rose Gold and Gold Prints that had been gracing my Instagram feed over the last few weeks. The Blogger Box of Lame came with two rose gold prints – obviously a little more blogger orientated – ‘celebrate all the little victories’ and ‘blog, tweet, snack, repeat‘ and a gold print – which comes in every box – ‘you had me at pizza‘ with a little pizza symbol. I love prints and have countless art prints and motivational quotes adorning my university rooms walls, so these have been a great addition. Also to note, I’ve seen the journey and hard work gone towards creating these beauties by Chloe, so congrats girl they’re gorgeous!
Some more lovely art prints to add to my wall, the Blogger Box comes with two x A5 and two x A6 motivational/art prints which can be stuck to a wall with or without frames. These include ‘Fear‘, ‘Start Now‘, ‘Believe‘ and ‘Cactus‘ print. Even though it’s hard to see in the picture the ‘Start Now’ print has a light pink watercolour background too.
As someone who mostly ends up creating their own thing out of the food left in the cupboard – my mother calls it ‘bung it’ – I love the idea of these Recipe Cards where I can actually note down ingredients and my methods for cooking my favourite food – also helpful if anyone asks how to recreate them too -. I also love the ‘Snail Mail‘ cards for sending cute little messages on something other than facebook. As a massive lover of receiving post, this is right up my street!
I’ve been enjoying my Ban.do agenda so much the last couple of weeks and grabbing every type of washi tape and stickers I can find, So when I found planner stickers in my box I was rather excited to get sticking them. There were two A5 sticker packs (pre-cut up) one being Pastel Themed to do lists, blocks of colour and arrows and the second being Motivational Stickers. And lastly from That Lame Company is a pastel blue pencil with ‘Getting Shit Done’ printed in gold foil which was put into the boxes at random.
In each Box of Lame, there is a selection of products from eleven different Etsy shops, with around six products being chosen at random to pop in each box. It’s great receiving such a selection of new and exciting products from companies I may not have heard of otherwise. I received products from the likes of Emily & Angus, Lilac & Dot, Dorkface, PopCute Studios and Raining Cats & Cake.
As a girl with extraordinarily long and knotty hair, I find hair ties get stuck in my hair or have a good bird nest attached to them when I try and get them out. I loved trying this elastic soft hair tie as it allowed me to keep my hair up without getting the annoying kinks in my hair afterward and without having to rip it out half of my hair. They also sell hair clips, clip holders, elastic bookmarks and magnetic pegs etc..
As I mentioned earlier as a person very much into personalising and getting crafty with my planner I have developed an obsession with stickers! Lilac & Dot sell planner stickers, planner accessories and paper goods perfect for anyone with any planner or bullet journal. They also have an Instagram with pictures of new products and examples of their stickers been used in action.
I’ve been following Dorkface a.k.a Jemma on twitter for a while now as not only does gorgeous illustrations and stickers but also runs the #TheGirlGang group on Twitter. I’ve already placed her prints firmly on my university walls. She’s got a fabulous blog of her own as well as Twitter and Instagram so make sure you check them out!
– p.s. her self-care sticker package is already sitting in my basket –
Another Etsy shop I was really looking forward to seeing in my box was PopCute Studios; they sell cute pocket mirrors which include a cookie and poke balls, postcard prints, acrylic charms to put on your keychain, stickers and button badges. I received a sweet little button badge with a kawaii mochi design. As a lover of anything Japanese, this is right up my street!
Anyone who knows me knows I love cats. ANYTHING cat related is my jam and I have to have it. So when I spotted my favourite animal in a space themed postcard I was beyond happy! Each print is colourful and cute and perfect for sending to a friend or keeping for yourself on a wall display. They not only do postcards but also pins, stationary items and jewellery so if you’re a cat lover like me you’re sorted!
Overall – even though I didn’t think it was possible – I loved this box even more than my first one back in Spring. Congrats to That Lame Company for doing such a fabulous job again and again for making amazing products, introducing us to fabulous smaller shops, curating an amazing box and keeping it so affordable!
But be quick as they’re going off sale tomorrow!
Make sure you check out the boxes as well as the rest of That Lame Company if you’re looking to buy some stationary bits to glam up your desk.
